Mikogo is a nice free screen sharing and remote access software which lets you share desktop with upto 10 participants simultaneously and also allows you to switch controls and remotely work on each other’s computers. It also comes as a Skype add-on and hence you can use it easily with Skype.
You’ll first have to register at Mikogo.com and download the software. Once you run the setup file, you can start a meeting by clicking on the ‘ M ‘ icon in your system tray. It’ll generate a unique id for the participants who would need to go to mikogo.com and click on ‘ Join Meeting ‘ on the upper right corner. It asks them to run a file named connect.exe . Once they do it, the desktop sharing process begins.
Here are the main advantages of using Mikogo :-
- Free and easy-to-use screen sharing
- Switch controls and change presenters
- File Transfers
- Use With Skype

I have been using teamviewer and crossloop for sometime…lets see what Mikogo has to offer
Hi Abhijeet,
Thanks for taking the time to review Mikogo. I’m glad to hear that you’ve been enjoying the application. We appreciate our users blogging about Mikogo and it’s always great to get such feedback.
To make joining and starting meetings easier, there is the Mikogo firefox add-on. I noticed on your about page that you enjoy Firefox, so when you have a moment please give the add-on a test drive and you’ll find that you can start or join meetings from any website: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6779
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Mikogo.
Regards,
Andrew
