Daniel recently talked about declaring May 1st as the RSS awareness day. There is also a dedicated website for the purpose: http://rssday.org/ . This website helps to acquaint people with RSS and explain it in a simple manner in order to attract more internet users towards this wonderful technology.
I am personally a big fan of RSS and I think this is a very good initiative. RSS helps you go through multiple blogs and websites in your feed reader, thereby helping you to gather more information and stay updated and also save time by not visiting the various websites again and again. Hence it is very important to spread the word about this so that it goes mainstream and more internet users get acquainted with it.
I urge all the bloggers to participate in this campaign and help spread the word on RSS.

Yeah, RSS is a superfine technology to read hundreds of items on a day. The cool video from Creative Commons is one of the best way to learn what RSS really is.
