Here are 3 apps which help you in sharing things easily by making them short and tiny.

1. TinyUrl

I’m sure almost all of you reading this know about TinyUrl. It’s a url shortening service and it shot into fame  recently when it became an extremely useful way to share links in Twitter. There’s also a nice bookmarklet which you can add to your browser toolbar and it lets you shorten the urls in 2 clicks.

Get The Updated Mozilla Weave Sync 0.2

mozilla-weave-logoA while back I wrote a post which showed how you can sync Firefox across different computers with Mozilla Weave . Today the Google Operating System blog reported that this tool has been updated to the version 0.2 and now has some new features.

Mozilla Weave is a browser sync tool which lets you sync firefox on multiple computers by storing your browser preferences at a centralized location online. According to the release notes, here are the main features of the new version :-

Is Gmail Creating Problems in Firefox 3 For You Too ?

Since I’ve started using Firefox 3, I’ve seen an error message in Gmail which I never encountered before.  The error message usually appears when I sign in to Gmail and the problem occurs randomly.

I’ve tried disabling the Gmail Labs feature and also using a fresh Firefox profile. However it hasn’t helped and the error message appears at least once in a day and then when later in the day I sign in again, it’s taken care of automatically. Here’s the error message :-

bill-gatesAs I write this, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates has just delivered an emotional farewell speech to his employees for the last time in his full-time role. You can listen to an excerpt of the speech at Todd’s audio blog.

Although Google reigns over bloggers’ hearts, geeks go crazy when they hear Steve Jobs speak, diggers just can’t wait to bury a Microsoft story and tech enthusiasts don’t seem to stop when it comes to whining over vista, the truth is that the revolution started with Windows and it’s not Linux or a Mac but Windows which has reached millions of people around the world and touched the masses ( whether in pirated form or anything else ).

And the credit goes to the innovative mindset and some exceptional marketing and management skills of Bill Gates. If not for him, computers would have been still obscure and technology wouldn’t have been as easy as it seems today.
