If you want to view all the conversations, whether emails or chat messages, with a particular gmail contact then what do you do ? Well, there are few ways. Like you can use gmail search operators or you can also use a greasemonkey script for that purpose.
However, Gmail itself provides you a quick way to do that, which you may not have discovered yet. Just look at the chat box on the left in your gmail, which has your status and shows the contacts who are available online.
There is a small box below your name where you can type to find a contact. As you start typing the name, it lists the matched results. Then just hover your mouse over the required contact. What do you see ? On the right it gives you some options which includes ” View recent conversations “. Click on it and there you are. You get the entire history of emails and chats with that particular contact.

You can also view all conversations with a contact by pointing the mouse on his name in the chat window and then clicking on More in his profile window which pops up. However, this is feasible only if the contact is online, otherwise you’ll have to scroll down through the list to find him and then check it.
I hope you enjoyed this trick. If you want to share any such tips, please do in the comments. I’d love to know more such tricks.
