Easiest Way To View Passwords in Firefox 3

18

Jun

I have to admit that I am loving the final version of Firefox 3. I finally got it downloaded yesterday, after the initial hiccups when Mozilla’s servers went down.

You’ll find more articles on Firefox 3 and its cool features going forward on Jeet Blog and this cool tip is the first in that series. Now let’s say you have a login id and password for a particular website but you don’t remember that. Now what do you do? If you’ve saved it previously in Firefox then you’d go and access it through Tools-> Options->Security->Saved passwords and check it.

Digital Inspiration reports that Firefox 3 will be available at 10 AM Los Angeles Time. Ghacks reports that Firefox 3 final version has already been uploaded to the Mozilla ftp site. However, I could only find the Firefox 3 release candidate 3 there, so am not sure. Moreover, downloading from their ftp site will be counted in their campaign or not, is a question.

Sync Firefox Across Different Computers With Mozilla Weave

May

Sometime back, I wrote a post on 3 useful methods to backup your Firefox preferences. However, if you use Firefox on different computers, like your home and office computers, then keeping all the data in sync which includes cookies, history, bookmarks, passwords etc could be a daunting task.

There are some extensions available like the Foxmarks add on which allows you to sync your bookmarks across different computers easily. But there is another such browser plugin by Mozilla ( the makers of Firefox ) themselves through which you can sync all of your bookmarks, history, cookies, saved form data, and now even passwords.

Using Different Firefox Profiles For Various Purposes

28

May

Martin at ghacks wrote an interesting post on how he uses a different Firefox profile for logging in to his netbanking and other secured accounts. He also mentioned about some add-ons which he uses in that particular profile.

Using different firefox profiles can be useful and you could do it for various purposes. For example, recently there was a problem in my Firefox and even after removing all the add ons, I couldn’t resolve it. So then, instead of uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox ( which is time consuming ), I just went ahead and created a fresh profile and started working in that.
