I backed up my FF profiles, extensions, etc on the Box.net. Then, having re-formatted computer and reinstalled my firefox, includeing the FEBE add-on, when I tried to restore from Box.net what I had previously backed up, there was no way of doing it. Please let me know how to go about this problem.

Stay away from Mozilla. They are highly unprofessional. Their solution for everything is to insult and ban you.

I asked for support on their forums. I got this:

[...] Firefox only (Windows/Mac/Linux): The FEBE Firefox extension backs up all of your existing Firefox extensions with the click of a button. We’ve featured FEBE before, but it’s improved significantly since then, and the latest update has added support for automatically uploading your extension backups to file-sharing web site Box.net. FEBE can schedule automatic backups, and in addition to your extensions, FEBE can also back up and restore themes, bookmarks, preferences, passwords, and virtually anything else in your Firefox profile. In fact, if I didn’t know any better I’d say FEBE is venturing toward full Firefox profile syncing (we can only hope). FEBE is free, works wherever Firefox does.
Wow I had no idea FireFox needed an external tool/service to do this. What a pain!

Opera has all of this built in and it synchronizes with my.opera.com.

Most of the good things in Firefox were in Opera first. If people understood this more I'm sure more people would upgrade to Opera. I stopped using Firefox 2 years ago and have never looked back.
